A top price for Elias Jengo
This artwork by Elias Jengo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2020. In the Modern and Contemporary African Art Online auction, the work Wakulima (The Farmers) sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,928.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. This high result makes Wakulima (The Farmers) the most expensive artwork by Elias Jengo that we have observed at auctions so far.
