In April 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work My Lady Rhododendron by Elliott Daingerfield. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,559.15) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elliott Daingerfield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grand Canyon, Moonlight, which sold at auction in February 2013 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,026.07).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit My Lady Rhododendron von Elliott Daingerfield zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.559,15) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Elliott Daingerfield mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grand Canyon, Moonlight beobachtet, die im Februar 2013 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 21.026,07) versteigert wurde.
