Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Marilyn Monroe, New York, 1956 by Elliott Erwitt. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,117.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elliott Erwitt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'California Kiss', 1955, which sold at auction in May 2016 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 24,466.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe, New York, 1956 von Elliott Erwitt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.117,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Elliott Erwitt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'California Kiss', 1955 beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 24.466,77) versteigert wurde.
