Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Sea At Manly by Emanuel Phillips Fox was auctioned at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 30,000.00 – 45,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 31,200.00 (€ 18,794.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Emanuel Phillips Fox have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian The Cabbage Patch in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 288,000.00 (€ 177,085.85).
