This artwork by Emile Charles Lecomte-Vernet achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2014. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work French La Fidèle sold for GBP 45,000.00 (€ 55,306.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Emile Charles Lecomte-Vernet; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot French aimée, A Young Egyptian sold at auction in November 2010 with the realized price of USD 92,500.00 (€ 70,957.35).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Emile Charles Lecomte-Vernet erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit French La Fidèle für GBP 45.000,00 (€ 55.306,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Emile Charles Lecomte-Vernet; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit French aimée, A Young Egyptian im November 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 92.500,00 (€ 70.957,35).
