Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Untitled, 1994 by Emily Kame Kngwarreye. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 45,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 47,970.00 (€ 29,086.32). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Celebration in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 596,000.00 (€ 530,863.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1994 von Emily Kame Kngwarreye zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 45.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 47.970,00 (€ 29.086,32) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Kame Kngwarreye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Celebration im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 596.000,00 (€ 530.863,10).
