Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Erwin Olaf could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Photographs auction, the work 'Paradise Portraits, Matt' changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,355.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Erwin Olaf have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Hallway from Hope in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 34,916.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Erwin Olaf konnte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Photographs wechselte die Arbeit 'Paradise Portraits, Matt' für USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.355,80) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Erwin Olaf auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Hallway from Hope im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 34.916,20).
