Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Etel Adnan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June this year. In the Art contemporain - Vente du soir auction, the work Sans titre sold for EUR 239,400.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Etel Adnan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of GBP 352,800.00 (€ 417,972.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Etel Adnan erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art contemporain - Vente du soir wurde die Arbeit Sans titre für EUR 239.400,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 80.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Etel Adnan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 352.800,00 (€ 417.972,71).
