Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Eugène Atget could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs From The Estate of Thomas T. Solley auction, the work Fig Tree, c. 1921 changed hands for USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,628.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugène Atget achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Femme, 1925 in November 2009 with an auction result of EUR 444,750.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Eugène Atget konnte im Februar 2007 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs From The Estate of Thomas T. Solley wechselte die Arbeit Fig Tree, c. 1921 für USD 4.800,00 (€ 3.628,12) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugène Atget erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Femme, 1925 im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 444.750,00.
