Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Sueño by Felipe Castañeda. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,462.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Felipe Castañeda have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maternity in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,483.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sueño von Felipe Castañeda zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.462,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Felipe Castañeda auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maternity im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.483,29).
