In October 2014 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Italian Artillery in the Alps, 1916; and Soldiers throwing snowballs, heavy artillery beyond by Fortunino Matania. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,915.28), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Fortunino Matania have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 11,760.00 (€ 17,429.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Italian Artillery in the Alps, 1916; and Soldiers throwing snowballs, heavy artillery beyond von Fortunino Matania zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.915,28) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fortunino Matania auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.760,00 (€ 17.429,06).
