Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Epee Fencing Championships at Lincoln's Inn, 1922; Grand Parade winning the Victory Derby from Buchan, 1919 (illustrated); A Skiing party; and Study of a sailing boat by Fortunino Matania. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,755.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Fortunino Matania have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 11,760.00 (€ 17,429.06).

Im Oktober 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Epee Fencing Championships at Lincoln's Inn, 1922; Grand Parade winning the Victory Derby from Buchan, 1919 (illustrated); A Skiing party; and Study of a sailing boat von Fortunino Matania zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.755,68) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fortunino Matania auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Complete Set of Illustrations For The Tinker'S Wig im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.760,00 (€ 17.429,06).
