In April 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Greek The Three Epochs In Hellenism by Fotis Kontoglou. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 102,500.00 (€ 130,673.02), 71% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Fotis Kontoglou; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Refugees or The Valley of Lamentation sold at auction in March 2021 with the realized price of EUR 252,000.00.

Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Greek The Three Epochs In Hellenism von Fotis Kontoglou zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 102.500,00 (€ 130.673,02) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Fotis Kontoglou; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Refugees or The Valley of Lamentation im März 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 252.000,00.
