This artwork by Francis Alÿs achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Fairy Tales sold for GBP 45,250.00 (€ 53,157.09) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Alÿs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study For The Last Clown in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,377.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Francis Alÿs erzielte im März 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Fairy Tales für GBP 45.250,00 (€ 53.157,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Alÿs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study For The Last Clown im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 288.000,00 (€ 427.377,51).
