In June this year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Pierre Boulez Collection, which included the work Etude d'après Velasquez. Portrait du Pape Innocent X - 1989 by Francis Bacon. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 34,112.00 71% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bacon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Studies Of Lucian Freud in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 142,405,000.00 (€ 104,663,383.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 71 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Pierre Boulez Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Etude d'après Velasquez. Portrait du Pape Innocent X - 1989 von Francis Bacon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 34.112,00 und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Bacon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Studies Of Lucian Freud im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 142.405.000,00 (€ 104.663.383,80).
