This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by François Lemoyne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Adam Et Eve in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 1,296,750.00.
