Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art, which included the work Portrait of Claude by Françoise Gilot. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,860.00 (€ 11,698.18) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Françoise Gilot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Living Forest in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 9,850,000.00 (€ 1,115,718.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Claude von Françoise Gilot zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 11.698,18) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Françoise Gilot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Living Forest im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.850.000,00 (€ 1.115.718,32).
