Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,159,259.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans van Mieris the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Music Lesson, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 3,502,500.00 (€ 4,107,407.49).

Die Arbeit A Traveler At Rest von Frans van Mieris the Elder wurde im Januar 2014 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings Part I bei Christies in New York versteigert.
