In December 2020 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work The Drummer Boy by Frans van Mieris the Elder. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,762,500.00 (€ 1,968,869.58), 47% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans van Mieris the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Music Lesson, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 3,502,500.00 (€ 4,107,407.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Drummer Boy von Frans van Mieris the Elder zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.762.500,00 (€ 1.968.869,58) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Frans van Mieris the Elder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Music Lesson beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 3.502.500,00 (€ 4.107.407,49) versteigert wurde.
