A top price for Frans van Mieris the Elder
When the work The Music Lesson by Frans van Mieris the Elder was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 1,000,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 3,502,500.00 (€ 4,107,407.49). This high result makes The Music Lesson the most expensive artwork by Frans van Mieris the Elder that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit The Music Lesson von Frans van Mieris the Elder im Juli 2021 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches.
