Despite a disappointment, a good price for Franz Emil Krause

In September 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work St. Michael's Mount, Cornwall by Franz Emil Krause for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,613.87). This price was achieved in the auction The Cowdray Sale: Works of Art from Cowdray Park and Dunecht House,At Cowdray Park, West Sussex at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, St. Michael's Mount, Cornwall is the most expensive artwork by Franz Emil Krause that we have observed at auction so far.
