The »bidding war« ended at GBP 720.00 (€ 1,075.74), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick John Widgery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,692.13).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.075,74) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick John Widgery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.692,13).
