In the British & Continental Watercolours auction, the work Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor sold for GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,601.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick John Widgery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,692.13).
