Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Taw from Belstone Tor, Dartmoor (illustrated); and The Taw in flood by Frederick John Widgery. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 821.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick John Widgery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,692.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Taw from Belstone Tor, Dartmoor (illustrated); and The Taw in flood von Frederick John Widgery zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 687,50 (€ 821,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick John Widgery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit River Dart; and Yalmpton Creek, Dart (illustrated) im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.692,13).
