Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Blue House, North Facing by Geoffrey Robert Proud. The price achieved of AUD 2,390.00 (€ 1,449.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Geoffrey Robert Proud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bonds and Roses in May 2002 with an auction result of AUD 18,800.00 (€ 11,393.94).

Im April 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue House, North Facing von Geoffrey Robert Proud zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 2.390,00 (€ 1.449,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Geoffrey Robert Proud auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bonds and Roses im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 18.800,00 (€ 11.393,94).
