In April 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Hoar Frost by Geoffrey Robert Proud. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 3,346.00 (€ 2,028.99). Admittedly, works by Geoffrey Robert Proud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bonds and Roses in May 2002 with an auction result of AUD 18,800.00 (€ 11,393.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hoar Frost von Geoffrey Robert Proud zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 3.346,00 (€ 2.028,99) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Geoffrey Robert Proud auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bonds and Roses im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 18.800,00 (€ 11.393,94).
