Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dawn, Stingray Bay by Geoffrey Robert Proud was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in August 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 1,314.50 (€ 801.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Geoffrey Robert Proud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bonds and Roses in May 2002 with an auction result of AUD 18,800.00 (€ 11,393.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dawn, Stingray Bay von Geoffrey Robert Proud kam im August 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 1.314,50 (€ 801,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Robert Proud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bonds and Roses im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 18.800,00 (€ 11.393,94).
