The work Goatherders by classical ruins by George Barret the Younger was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in April 2010. The price achieved of GBP 500.00 (€ 575.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Barret the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Solitude: An Italianate Landscape With A Figure Reclining Beneath Trees in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,695.08).
