This artwork by George Condo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September this year. In the 10th Shanghai Auction Anniversary: 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Facial Composition on Green Sky sold for CNY 5,418,000.00 (€ 701,309.52) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 2,800,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Condo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nude and Forms in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Condo erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 10th Shanghai Auction Anniversary: 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Facial Composition on Green Sky für CNY 5.418.000,00 (€ 701.309,52) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CNY 2.800.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Condo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nude and Forms im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10).
