Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seated Harlequin by George Condo was auctioned at Phillips in London in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 889,000.00 (€ 1,020,818.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 750,000.00 – 950,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Condo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nude and Forms in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,162,500.00 (€ 5,280,634.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seated Harlequin von George Condo kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 889.000,00 (€ 1.020.818,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 750.000,00 – 950.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Condo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nude and Forms im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.162.500,00 (€ 5.280.634,10).
