Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George de Forest Brush could be acquired at Christies in New York in August 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art Online auction, the work Seated Mother and Child changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,141.76) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George de Forest Brush achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Council of the War Party in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 2,592,000.00 (€ 2,188,819.46).
