Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George de Forest Brush could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work The Portrait changed hands for USD 93,750.00 (€ 85,080.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George de Forest Brush achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Council of the War Party in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 2,592,000.00 (€ 2,188,819.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George de Forest Brush konnte im November 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit The Portrait für USD 93.750,00 (€ 85.080,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George de Forest Brush erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Council of the War Party im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.592.000,00 (€ 2.188.819,46).
