Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work The Thomas Sisters by George de Forest Brush for USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,589.05). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George de Forest Brush achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Council of the War Party in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 2,592,000.00 (€ 2,188,819.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Thomas Sisters von George de Forest Brush für USD 4.800,00 (€ 3.589,05) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George de Forest Brush erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Council of the War Party im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.592.000,00 (€ 2.188.819,46).
