A top price for George Howard - as previously expected
In June 2001 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pictures, which included the work Bordighera by George Howard. The price achieved of GBP 9,987.50 (€ 16,591.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Bordighera is the most expensive artwork by George Howard that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bordighera von George Howard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.987,50 (€ 16.591,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Bordighera das teuerste Kunstwerk von George Howard, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
