Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Georges Valmier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Composition sold for USD 187,500 (€ 153,764) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges Valmier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nature Morte Au Compotier, which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 725,000 (€ 582,891).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Georges Valmier erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Composition für USD 187.500 (€ 153.764) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges Valmier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nature Morte Au Compotier beobachtet, die im November 2014 für USD 725.000 (€ 582.891) versteigert wurde.
