Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a Laughing Man by Gerald Cassidy for USD 2,295.00 (€ 1,944.92). This price was achieved in the auction Western Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerald Cassidy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Indians Racing Before a Storm in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 209,000.00 (€ 153,225.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a Laughing Man von Gerald Cassidy für USD 2.295,00 (€ 1.944,92) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Western Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerald Cassidy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two Indians Racing Before a Storm im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 209.000,00 (€ 153.225,81).
