In March 2017 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art, which included the work Cavaliere romano che tiene un cavallo alla briglia by Giorgio de Chirico. The auction ended at the price of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 35,157.04), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio de Chirico achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 15,890,400.00 (€ 13,643,341.63).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cavaliere romano che tiene un cavallo alla briglia von Giorgio de Chirico zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 35.157,04) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio de Chirico erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.890.400,00 (€ 13.643.341,63).
