In September this year Bonhams in London held the auction Blazing a TrailModern British Women, which included this untitled work by Grace Pailthorpe. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,200.00 (€ 3,200.00), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Grace Pailthorpe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sans titre in March this year with an auction result of EUR 21,675.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Grace Pailthorpe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.200,00 (€ 3.200,00) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Grace Pailthorpe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sans titre im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 21.675,00.
