Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale, which included this untitled work by Grace Pailthorpe. The price achieved of GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,534.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Grace Pailthorpe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sans titre in March this year with an auction result of EUR 21,675.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Grace Pailthorpe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.534,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Grace Pailthorpe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sans titre im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 21.675,00.
