Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tian Ping Mountain by Guan Liang was sold in the Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 600,000.00 – 1,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 75,324.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guan Liang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hardoon Garden (Xihu) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 1,200,000.00 (€ 1,225,434.78).
