Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2013 Sothebys in Doha held the auction Contemporary Art / Doha, which included the work One Way by Gulay Semercioglu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,883.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Gulay Semercioglu have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2010 the work The Pink Thing was auctioned for GBP 31,250.00 (€ 35,962.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in Doha die Auktion Contemporary Art / Doha durch, in der auch die Arbeit One Way von Gulay Semercioglu zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 20.883,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Gulay Semercioglu konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2010 die Arbeit The Pink Thing für GBP 31.250,00 (€ 35.962,64) versteigert.
