Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in London held the auction Islamic and Indian Works of Art, which included the work Woman by Gurcharan Singh. The price achieved of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,519.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Gurcharan Singh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 14,400.00 (€ 10,767.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Islamic and Indian Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman von Gurcharan Singh zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 940,00 (€ 1.519,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gurcharan Singh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.400,00 (€ 10.767,16).
