This artwork by Gustave Cariot achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May last year. In the Modern Art Online including Works from the Collection of Marina Picasso auction, the work Les moissons (Paysage aux meules) sold for GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,609.94) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gustave Cariot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Prairial, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 131,250.00 (€ 124,266.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gustave Cariot erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art Online including Works from the Collection of Marina Picasso wurde die Arbeit Les moissons (Paysage aux meules) für GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.609,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gustave Cariot mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Prairial beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 131.250,00 (€ 124.266,24) versteigert wurde.
