In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Château De Chillon by Gustave Courbet. The result of USD 300,000.00 (€ 270,440.82) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Courbet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Femme Nue Couchée in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 15,285,000.00 (€ 14,471,690.97).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Château De Chillon von Gustave Courbet zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 300.000,00 (€ 270.440,82) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave Courbet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Femme Nue Couchée im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.285.000,00 (€ 14.471.690,97).
