This artwork by Guy Arthur Wiggins achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in December this year. In the The Alan and Simone Hartman CollectionThe Inaugural Sale auction, the work Mid-winter at the Metropolitan Museum sold for USD 17,920.00 (€ 16,199.60) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Guy Arthur Wiggins; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot St. Patrick'S And Its Neighbors After Snowfall sold at auction in September 2008 with the realized price of USD 40,625.00 (€ 28,850.93).
