Upper estimate price exceeded by 60 %.
The work Two Girls Seated in Church by Gwen John was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in November this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,200.00 (€ 3,708.10), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gwen John achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Convalescent in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 200,500.00 (€ 229,106.20).
