Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Harry Epworth Allen could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Scarborough Castle changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,145.97) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harry Epworth Allen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Crowlink, Sussex, which sold at auction in July 2006 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,418.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Harry Epworth Allen konnte im Mai 2009 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Scarborough Castle für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.145,97) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Harry Epworth Allen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Crowlink, Sussex beobachtet, die im Juli 2006 für GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.418,29) versteigert wurde.
