This artwork by Helmut Newton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2016. In the Photographs auction, the work Self-portrait with Barbara Edwards, March 1986 sold for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 13,048.94) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helmut Newton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,340,000.00 (€ 2,180,598.27).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Helmut Newton erzielte im Mai 2016 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Self-portrait with Barbara Edwards, March 1986 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 13.048,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helmut Newton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.340.000,00 (€ 2.180.598,27).
