Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In April 2005 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A winter landscape with figures skating on a frozen lake by Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,197.11). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Boeren Buijtenvreugt': a wedding dance in a village in May 2002 with an auction result of EUR 35,850.00.

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im April 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A winter landscape with figures skating on a frozen lake von Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.197,11) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Boeren Buijtenvreugt': a wedding dance in a village im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 35.850,00.
