Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Alberto Giacometti, rue d’Alésia, Paris, 1961 by Henri Cartier-Bresson for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,400.41). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Cartier-Bresson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On the Banks of the Marne, France in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Alberto Giacometti, rue d’Alésia, Paris, 1961 von Henri Cartier-Bresson für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.400,41) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Cartier-Bresson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On the Banks of the Marne, France im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 195.043,60).
